This would prompt the nurses to inject her with a strong sedative, allowing Anja to escape her misery for at least a little while.Īnja continued to live in agony for the rest of the year until, finally, something new interrupted her dull, daily routine. As such, whenever her situation became too unbearable, Anja started groaning as loudly and intensively as her wired jaw would allow. However, she quickly longed for them, as her boredom and distress only became worse now that she was able to think straight. Initially, Anja was glad about this, happy to have her head feel more clear without all the drugs. As the pain in her shattered bones subsided, the hospital staff noticed that Anja’s distressed groans became less intense and they cut back on her pain medication. While hopelessly trapped in an even more restrictive cast, Anja’s desperation only grew. However, her tampered files and overzealous doctor quickly crushed her hopes, as multiple additions were made to her miserable plaster shell.
Anja desperately hoped for nothing more than to have her casts reduced so that she could finally move at least some part of her body again.
PLASTER CAST FULL
She wasn’t exactly sure what bones in her body were broken… but she refused to believe that enough bones were broken to warrant her horrid full body cast. After an entire summer trapped in her first and second full body cast, the awful pain caused by Anja’s myriad broken bones subsided.
